By definition, the Renaissance was a time of dramatic change and reformation, a ‘rebirth’ of art and culture in Italy. Some of the most famous art, and recognized cultural advances occurred during this time period, especially in comparison to the previous period called the Dark Ages. However, what the average person knows of the Renaissance today consists mainly of male works. The Renaissance female has too often been neglected as an important contributor to the value of the Italian Renaissance. In reality, males and females played equally important roles in the development of ‘the rebirth.’ The "Battle of the Sexes" continues……….
